By downloading, installing, or using Habit Buddy, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the app.

2. Description of Service

Habit Buddy is a mobile application that allows users to create habits, track their progress, and share habit challenges with friends. The service includes features for social accountability and friendly competition. The service is available in a free tier with limited features and a premium tier (Habit Buddy Pro) with additional capabilities.

3. User Accounts

To use Habit Buddy, you must:

• Be at least 13 years old
• Provide accurate account information
• Keep your login credentials secure
• Be responsible for all activity under your account

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any illegal purpose
• Harass, bully, or intimidate other users
• Share inappropriate or offensive content
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service
• Interfere with the proper functioning of the app
• Create multiple accounts to abuse the service

5. User Content and Photos

You retain ownership of content you create (habit names, descriptions, photos, etc.). By using the service, you grant us a license to display your content to other users you've chosen to share with. You are responsible for ensuring your content does not violate any laws or third-party rights.

When uploading photos, you agree that:

• You have the rights to share any images you upload
• Images must not violate any laws or contain inappropriate, offensive, or explicit content
• Photos attached to shared habits will be visible to other participants of that habit
• We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms

6. Social Features

When you share habits or invite friends, you acknowledge that your habit progress and activity will be visible to those users. You can control sharing through the app's privacy settings.

7. Premium Subscriptions

Habit Buddy offers premium subscriptions (Habit Buddy Pro) with enhanced features:

• Subscription options: Monthly, yearly, or lifetime plans
• Billing: All purchases are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
• Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends
• Free trials: If offered, free trials automatically convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled before the trial ends
• Refunds: Refund requests must be made through Apple or Google, as they handle all billing

You can manage or cancel your subscription through your device's app store settings.

8. Push Notifications

By enabling push notifications, you consent to receive the following types of notifications:

• Habit reminders: Scheduled reminders for your habits
• Friend activity: Notifications when friends complete check-ins or reach milestones
• Social notifications: Friend requests, comments, and likes on your activity
• Habit invitations: Invitations to join shared habits and completion updates

You can manage notification preferences in the app settings or disable notifications entirely through your device settings.

9. Intellectual Property

Habit Buddy and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by us and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

10. Disclaimers

Habit Buddy is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. We are not responsible for any habits, challenges, or non-monetary stakes (such as friendly wagers or accountability agreements) made between users. Habit Buddy does not facilitate or process any monetary transactions between users.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the service.

12. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings.

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will notify you of significant changes.

14. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
